Thesis/Dissertation Formatting in MS Word
I recently discovered a more automated fix to the problem of short TOC entries missing leader dots to the page numbers. Insert a period after the short heading in the text, then change the color to white so that it does not appear in the heading, but will appear in the TOC, and then condense the character by 1 pt.
> character space tab
> Condense 1pt
Using this method, one would not need to insert a tab each time the TOC is updated in its entirety. Is there another solution to this problem?
